I think this post really gets down to the real reason you think weed should remain illegal. You obviously do understand why people feel they need to be high all the time because it used to be you! You used to be a big pot head that didn't get anything done? That sucks for you but maybe you didn't get enough attention as a child?
You also stated proudly you get drunk then go on to say being in an altered state of mind is bad? That makes no sense to me bud.
It's all about moderation I think. If you are smoking yourself dumb 24hrs a day and thats all you care about in your life then yes, you probably fucked up somehwere. Even then I wouldn't judge the person. TO EACH THEIR OWN. That's the biggest reason for legalization - LIBERTY. There isn't enough evidence out there to say weed is good or bad, our ideas about weed are largely based on personal experience. Therefore LIBERTY should come first and since there is no evidence against weed we must make it legal.
let me put it this way. i don't really give a fuck about gay marriage, but i don't really support it either. if you want to go get married to a dude, who am i to interfere with what makes you happy and who's ass you're sticking it in in your personal time.
but that said, i don't necessarily want you parading around in public, making out with your boyfriend and shit to show your sense of gay pride in front of my 5 year old son who doesn't fully understand what the fuck is going on. it's one thing to do something for yourself, but it often doesn't stop there. gay marriage turns into gay pride which turns into public display of gay affection which results in my son coming up to me thinking that he needs to make out with boys because everyone else is doing it and it's socially acceptable.
see where i'm going with this? it's more than just what you do for yourself, it's that natural progression onto a larger scale and the message that you're sending

Gay pride originated mostly because of the HUGELY negative reaction they get from society. They wouldnt be so in your face about it if everyone had treated them with respect from the start. You're missing the entire reason for it. Gays who shove it in your face do so because they are saying fuck you to society for treating them like shit. They arn't trying to convert your son dont worry about that.
your figurative son isnt going to turn gay from seeing two dudes kiss on the street. if he does he was already gay.
