Inexpensive Snow Tires

What do you guys recommend.  I have a 2wd truck i figure with my limited slip differential, weight in the bed, and a good set of snow tires I should get around nicely.  Not going to compare anything to our subaru, but should work. 

So what snow tires would you recommend?

Ive heard about buying used ones super cheap from a wrecker/pick and pull or whatever... buuuuttt i dunno.

cheap, but could be sketchy. I have a friend who swears by it. But hes also a total dumb-ass.

careful with blizzaks, some of them suck and some are pretty good, i think its the wr60 and 70 that are good, but look up reviews before.
x-ice's are good but not as great as others in deeper snow. if you want the best of the best get nokians.
general makes some cheap ones that are legit the firestone winterforce are cheap and legit too.

I have Nokian Hakkapallitas but I also live in the snowiest city in the U.S. so quality is a must. I've never slipped more than a controlled slide before. Acceleration is not the reason you get snow tires though. Braking is.

dont fuck around when it comes to snow tires, go with nokian hakkapellita(sp?) or some good all seasons like the WRg2's. had those on my a4 and easily ripped through 2+ feet of snow with no problem

Ya fuck the 100 buck limit.  I don't want to get stuck anymore haha.  I am really hoping the limited slip will help too.  So sounds like the nokians are the best bet, i think they are studdable too which is a plus. 

Last year I tried taking the truck boarding.  I had mud tires, an open differential, and only about 80lbs of sand in the back.  Was the shittiest snow driving I have ever done.  So these upgrades better help me or I will be kicking myself.

I'd like to see another set of snow tires make it through this pile of man made snow. Don't let the depth fool you. I had a tough time WALKING through it.
