Full Tilts for Touring

My ski boots have taken a beating over the last few years, and it's about time I upgrade. The thing is, I started to get into touring this last season, and I'm looking for a pair of boots I can use for both touring and alpine. Last winter I used my alpine boots for just about everything, which worked OK, but was still kind of a pain going uphill. That said, I spend much more of my time on a chairlift, and don't really want to buy actual touring boots.

Ideally, I'd get a pair of each, but I can't justify spending that kind of cash money. So my question... has anyone toured in Full Tilts? They advertise themselves as being super comfy and more flexy than your traditional rigid boot, so I'm thinking this could be my solution. Any thoughts or insight that'll help me out? Thanks in advance.

Full Tilts are super light and if you loosened the buckles a little while going up hill i am sure they would be great.

Super light? Yes. But I don't think they make great touring boots since there isn't some sort of walk mode besides undoing your buckles. That can lead to a lot of blisters since nothing is holding your foot down inside the shell.

Better crossover boots would be any that have a walk mechanism but are still powerful enough to rip turns on the descent. Here are a few that come to mind:

Atomic Tracker 100, 110, 130
Salomon Quest
Black Diamond Factor, Method
Garmont Endorphin, Radium
Scarpa Tornado, Hurricane

All depends on what fits your foot the best, but perhaps start in that list and go from there.

Yeah, it sucks hiking rails and doing rail jams and stuff in FTs, I can't imagine touring in them.

hahaha no, not really. I have a lot of love for FT, skied in them for 4 seasons. They are awesome boots, but they definitely don't hike as easily as the boots I listed.

I would recommend checking out the Salomon Quest. The boot was developed this year as more of an all mountain cross over boot.

black diamond factor, can be unbuckled completely for touring/hiking but has a  BOA system like snowboard boots so you can stay locked into the liners but still hike, pretty light and still stiff
