Have my bindings been mounted wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got a set of K2 domains and marker jesters

But when i measure from the edge of the ski to the binding (the bottom pointy bit) on 1 ski its the same on both sides but on the other 1 side is bigger by 1mm so it needs to go over 0.5 of a mm to be bang in the middle! will this effect the way it skis? The front of the toe pice is bang in the middle 45MM?

I took it back to the store and they said the holes are drilled right but i still took it to another shop & they also said it would be fine as the boot sits straight but im not convinced but i might be tripping

Can any one who knows what there talking about recomend if i should go back & say i want another ski?Click for larger image

I can't tell from that picture at all...

The best way to see is put your boots in and make sure it looks right (straight and centered). It would be pretty tricky to mess that up if they used a jig...like, you'd have to actually try.

The only way they could do that is if they did it freehand, and one millimeter is hardly big enough to even measure.  I bet you're fine.

Sweet, thanks alot, the heel piece is fine they didnt do it free hand they used a jig but when i got them home the left hand side on both skis was smaller by 2mm so i took it to another shop they said the holes were drilled good but the top piece was put on wrong so now 1 is fine & 1 is out by 0.5Click for larger imageClick for larger image

personally they shop should have done it right... yea 1mm aint much and won't effect your skiing but still, with a jig you gotta be pretty dumb to make it not perfect. 4+ years in a shop and i wouldn't consider that annoying at all, fuck the economy sucks so much i'd remount them for you just to take your money!

1mm? you serious? 1mm. that is very, very, very, very small and makes no difference

when you screw into a set of holes the holes expand. the binding will often offset slightly as the holes expand

take them back to the shop and demand a new pair of skis for fucking those ones up so bad, no way can you ski those.

Fuck the shop and fuck you, these skis & bindings cost £505 & they charge £25 to mount them so if there wrong and will ski different i want them replaced, as i said i dont know & might be tripping thats why i asked for peoples advice who know what there talking about, i didnt ask for pricks like you to chat shit did I

lol, you're gonna be ok, next time prep your skis for mounting, measure everything out and tape it off, place a line on where you want it mounted and place a line over the middle of the skis, then write in big letters: MOUNT HERE!

also don't forget to put arrows pointing to FRONT :)

even in my own trusted shop i treat the techs like" morons", i always chat up with them and in the end they understand why i do it like this and everybody is happy :)

agreed this happened to me at my shop .. my tech mounted them for me (i work in a shop). When I got upstairs with them in hand .. i couldn't believe how far off center it was.

Mine skied fine, until the day I split one in half trying inverts haha.

Not all techs are created equally. Sometimes when you don't have the exact jig you have to kind of free hand it. Its not easy and lots of people F it up. Also Jigs do get bent and misaligned.

Your skis are likely fine. I mean nothing really bad will happen if you ride them like this. Its funny how ghetto most peoples set ups are, I have seen a big name pro cut some metal off a sign and put it under his boot, he said it would "keep him in longer".... Guy stomps 60 footers with this shit in his bindings... So your bindings being mounted a half mill off won't affect your steeze or those badass 540 you are throwing...
