Reminds me of when I use my credit card....
I sign it as different things every time, sometimes as John Doe, sometimes I draw a dick, I'll have to start using chinese characters now!
So pretty much my job requires me to type those words hundreds of times a week. You only need to type in one word, if the word has any sort of grammar markings in it its the other word. But yea for those prompts made by that company, only need 1 word, not both.
Is that a re-captcha? You could just type in the first word and gibberish for the second. The re-captcha works by knowing what one word is and not the second. Both are pulled from the NY Times archives as a part of an effort to digitize them. So the software is using your human input to discern that which it cannot understand. The other understood word is provided to make sure that you're trying; that's the captcha part. So if you know which word isn't understood by the software (obviously the azn one), you can do whatever you want for it.
