Cheap Pow Ski for a NEWB, for a friend

I am a snowboarder...I know shit about skis.

My buddy is a newb skier, and "hates" pow. I tell him to get some fatty skis to enjoy Colorado's sick pow.

What are cheap used options? Size?

He is short, fat, and really athletic. Think a hockey playing Cartman from south park.

I would look at websites like evogear.com for deals on skis from past seasons. Surface skis are cheaper than any other brand.

im guessing you live in Colorado, Colorado ski and golf was selling some of last years hellbents for like 350 or 400 last time i was in there
