Bike grips as pole grips?

these are my poles

they work great, but I had to fatten the pole a little with masking tape for them to fit tight. there's really no point to doing this though other than they look cool I guess.

My grips are super old school and bulky, I just want them to be slimmer and more like Armada's Love Handles I guess. I used those poles last season for a day and I was really impressed. it's for the looks, and for the slim profile

handlebars have a larger diameter than a pole shaft, so you would have to shim the pole somehow like the above post.

Yeah I picked up a pair of line poles in a shop and they felt some much lighter and the grips were a lot better than my current poles.

I have some bike grips from like canadian tire or something and they actually work really well. Never fallen off and they're really grippy and small . I'd Definitely try it

I've got an idea. If you had epoxy and saturate tape with it, wrapped that around the pole then slid the grip over you may produce good results? Like the papery tape, cause that would have the best chance of becoming saturated with epoxy. Otherwise, wouldn't the grip be able to slide off?

I've got purple animal Edvin de la rosa grips and plastic barends on my poles. I have old Head piste poles whitch had weird profile grips on them. I also wanted tocut down the leinght of the poles. I cut off the old grip and some of the pole. I had to put some tape under the new grip location to make the grip fit snug. I didn't put any straps beacause I don't use them.

Bike grips are a great way to get good poles at a cheap price. I break so many poles that I just grab rentals. The whistler rentals are scott anyway and are tuff stuff. I went out and bought a set of Armada poles with removable grips at last years turkey sale. The poles lasted like 2 weeks but the grips come with me after every big crash, i just throw my pole into the snow and keep on going!

Good grips are the essential for a good day of touring and the grip makes me more confident in those "I need my pole to keep me from falling off this cliff" sortra place.

Best way I have been able to mount bike grips is by building up hockey tape on the pole till its a pressure fit, then i use wire and twist it around the base of the grip, once more at the top with a strap in there and twist it down good!

I think your talking about a golf grip. Thats how you put golf grips on. You attatch a tape to the bare shaft, apply an epoxy to the tape, then slide the handle on giving it a solid connection. It actually might work but you would have to make sure the epoxy isn't affected by low temperatures.
