Intervalometre? Time Lapse Photography?

I've been super interested in starting to produce timelapses with my SLR, and seems like the most flowing and best way is through using an intervalometre such as http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/164271-REG/Canon_2477A002.html however I'd rather not spend such a large amount of money. Are there any cheaper alternatives to making time lapses without picking up one of these pricey things?

if you have a graphing calculator, i haven't tried it, but it looks legit

lots of cameras have self timer shooting.

If yours doesn't, I'm pretty sure you can download computer programs to do it. I don't know where to find them but i've been told they exist.

You can find $25 intervolometers on ebay. They are cheap and work great.

do this, the generic hong kong $25 ones work great

don't get fooled by the 399 limit, just set it to 0 for unlimited

Linkdelight.com has factory replicas of Canon/Nikon gear (same exact equipment made by the hands of the same Chinese 12-year-olds, minus the logo). You can get an intervalometer for $40.

Funny, I was in Tokyo today trying to find one in Akihabara and Shinjuku. My Japanese isnt up to much but we managed to figure it out , but unfortunatelythey had nonel. Plenty of remote shutter release, but no Intervelometer . They could have ordered one but it was $100 +.Very helpful though. Check out bIc camera in Shinjuku Tokyo if your ever there.

Anyway, I digress . I hear great things about the cheaper intervelomters from ebay and amazon.com . Expect to get one for -$50 . Wish I could have got one, but maybe in the near future.
