Touring on Surface New Lifes?

Got a chance to get some of these, or the One Lifes for pretty cheap with dukes. Kind of worried about how the New Lifes are for short slackcountry tours though. Seems like they might be pretty cumbersome and heavy.
Any experiences?

they will be relatively heavy skis (the new lifes) since they are pretty big. your real problem will be the huge rocker on them though. there are much better skis to tour on than new lifes or one lifes. i would look at watch lifes or maybe live lifes if you want to do more touring.

I tour on New Lifes all the time. Slackcountry is no problem. If you are skinning in deep snow (which you should be or there is really no reason to be using New Lifes in the first place) they are awesome. The rocker makes breaking trail super easy and I've never had any problems. Yea they are heavy (unless you put some dyanfits on them) but it is worth it to have them on the way down. If you are mostly doing slackcountry and short tours I say go for it.

New lifes would be a lot better for touring than one lifes. It has a less aggressive rocker (just nose).
All times are Eastern (-5)
