How do you read the flex index on fulltilts?

what the f**K is a tongue flex of 6 mean? whats that transfer to in a traditional boot flex index?

Just taking a whack at this, so im probably wrong but

2=70
4=85
6=100
8=115
10=130

idk, im probably way off

all i know is that my 2's are soft as shit and i love them haha

The higher the flex the stiffer the tongue, 10 being the stiffest i think.

i didn't even know there was a 2 flex.

i tried on a pair of fulltilts for the first time a few days ago and they felt so much better than my current boots.

i have the new hot doggers with a 6 flex, and i was talking to the boot fitter, who also has full tilts, and we both thought a 6 was comparabel to an 85 or 90 flex. another thing to remember tho is that it is much more fluid, it is the dame consistency/resistance for the entire flex, unlike a traditional boot. other than that ik that 2 is like too soft for anything other than park, 4 is for park/lightweight, 6 is all mountain/park, 8 is all mountain/freeride, and 10 is aggressive all mountain/extreme freeride. for more info than that your prbly gonna have to got to gear talk

my classics ahve a #6 tongue and ill tell u there more flexi than my spks(kaous) and iv had those for 2 years......................................ya i was like OMG!

ive got 4s on my booters and the highest they go is 6.. would it be worth it to get the 6 or is it not that big of difference?

It doesnt, nor do any other boot companies scales translate directly into one an others, there is no current industry standard. They are all relative to other boots in that line, hence 6 is in the middle.

The way my boot fitter explained it to me when I asked him roughly how stiff the 9 vs 10 would be was to give me both, tell me to hold the very top and the bottom, flex them toward each other (think like a triangle) and he said "that stiff."
