Photo assignment brainstorm

Haha, yeah I have ideas too, but I also notice other ideas when people give them to me.

Is it completely free, or is there some guidance? You need to give us more info.. what media? what do you need to turn in? A shot, a set, a story? What do you like shooting?

I meant I notice things with my own ideas I wouldn't have before. possibly another persons idea gives me a new perspective on what I was originally thinking, or adds on to my own ideas. mish mashing together ideas works for some, including me. this is what I intended to get across, sorry for confusion.

free choice. I'm not expecting instructor to turn down much of anything I submit, I just want a good topic so I enjoy it.

turning in a set (I believe of 6), with a central theme I imagine.
I love shooting with a theme I like, my shooting style is usually fairly run and gun, I don't like shooting with tons of setup, prefer natural feel vs. an artificial perfection. (can describe more if needed)  I shoot lots of landscapes too, but probably want to stay away from that. Don't shoot alot of portraiture but wouldn't mind it given a good theme. Like shooting macro in studio, only have my extension tubes for now though.

I can put up my kit if necessary, It shouldnt really change anything though

When I said media, I meant what is this class.. B&W film, color film, alt process, digital?

And in order for us mish mash, or to give you a new perspective on your own ideas, you need to first give us your ideas. Otherwise we are just doing the work for you.

I just would like to see if anyone has any ideas I either like or build off of. also who knows, someone else might benefit as well.
Every shooting theme has been done, everything has been beaten to death. Think of it like picking a halloween costume. I don't want to take your awesome new costume no ones ever thought of, I just am interested if you have a new take or idea for one that you think is awesome. I don't expect anyone to do any work for me though. Let me know if this isn't clear

you could do a modeling shot (because you said you don't do them much) of halloween costumes? Probably a very dumb idea but I don't know what it is you photo kids have to do

Honestly just go out and shoot. Go too a cool place; maybe that will help. Even in a pretty boring place you can make "magic" happen.

but just for information (though this shouldn't really pertain to it imo, it's not too extreme to expect unbiased results, regardless of age or skill) but I'm not a kid, I'm 18 years old, and this is a university course. It's not a photography specific program, it's a general media studies program that specializes in PR that has a few photography courses. this particular course is just digital photography and imaging and is VERY basic (not all these people are looking to be photographers mind you).

I'm in this program, if you're wondering, because I wanted to take a year to work and shoot my own shorts and edits, but still be possibly learning a thing or two. it's not a incredibly difficult program, and I intend on transferring to a arts university for either a film or photography degree after this year (not going to finish this degree) and possibly a year at a film school as well. I'm not the biggest fan of the program, and would like to find something more suited to my tastes next year.
