So I was just accepted into SDSU for the spring semester for 2011, kinda out of no where so i am super surprised. But I was wondering if this happened to anyone else and was wondering if anyone had any insight to the culture down there. I like the campus but I was just looking for some insight on the social life, living, and any snow clubs they have down there and so on.

Would greatly appreciate feedback thanks.

about four of my really good friends live down there and go to SD state/Mesa community. They all seem to like it. I think its not that far from mammoth for skiing and stuff, im sure they have a ski club and stuff too...

I've spent some time in SD and its a pretty cool place if you like the beach scene...It's pretty fun hanging out at the beaches and watching sexy chicks walk by all day. Downtown SD is kinda small but its pretty nice, gas light district is legit if your 21+.....Lots of cool blackhawk heli's and aircraft flying around since theres a large military presence in SD.

I'd never live there, just not my style. It feels too touristy....I'm sure theres a good college scene, but I havent spent much time around the school...

Big party school. Lots of booze and women with questionable morals. Since a couple years ago you can't legally drink on the beach anymore which is kinda whack. If you like Arrogant Bastard, Stone Brewery is in SD. Pretty sweet.

It's a pretty shitty school and pretty far inland. I degree from there isn't going to get you far, so I would suggest grad school if that's an option. Girls are cute and down for whatever but there are rampant STDs. I would highly suggest going to UCSD over State. If you do go to State, live by the beach, it's a long commute but worth it. What's the point of living in SD if you're going to live in La Mesa?

Skiing is non-existent. Mammoth is like 6.5 hours without traffic, Bear is 2.5 without traffic, but there's always traffic around Temecula/Riverside and the other bullshit cities on the way there. Also, Bear never really seems worth it since the jumps suck balls. So I would really suggest just not skiing. I went from skiing everyday to skiing 2 days a year. But I'm getting 200+ days in the water a year so that makes up for it.
