before you read this, i would like to say that while, yes, i am a snowboarder, i have nothing against skiers. i just thought this was a funny article and wanted to share. no harm no foul.

skiers throw so much more down than snowboarders. all snowboarders do is sit on top of the damn hill blocking it for everyone. plus skiing looks so much cooler when you actully do something. notice how you dont see many snowboards do as much shit as skiers in big air? because there all pussies thats why

This whole hating on each other is just stupid. I'd easily say that the majority of people I ride with are boarders and its fun trying to hit things in a different way, seeing how they approach a line as opposed to how I would do it or one of my skiing friends. Im not saying I am above mocking my best mate for being a boarder, but he rrips me for being a skier. Thats the sort of exchange it should be - lighthearted and fun. Lets not take life too seriously now.

theyre right about the boots. i dont really mind ski boots that much at all but snowboard boots are just heaven


but man, who really tries to argue one vs the other anymore? ive literally never heard or seen it happen by anyone over the age of 15 that didnt completely suck balls

I'll say it again: there's absolutely no reason whatsoever for snowboarders to hate on the general group skiers or for skiers to hate on the general group of snowboarders. It just doesn't make any sense.

Think about it, both sports probably wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the other one. Snowboarding was invented by a skier, and freeskiing came about because they saw snowboarders in the terrain parks.

Neither looks dumb, and neither looks more cool than the other, they just do it in different ways. In my opinion, skiing looks cool because you have more stuff to put into cool positions (Wow that sounds weird. Haha), and snowboarding is cool because it just looks natural, almost like the board just wants to do something cool.

I still don't understand all the fighting, or saying one is cooler than the other, or saying one is better than the other. Whether or not they want to admit it, they're both extremely cool sports that helped each other progress and grow.

have you ever seen a legit urban part from a skier?? im not against the switchups but it's not possible to press on a rail like you can on a snowboard and youre never able to nollie and pop as high as snowboarders you can't ride rails that are attached to a wall and so on. snowboarding is made for rails!

I've been boarding for the last two seasons after taking a break from skiing for seven years, can't really say there's anything different about the two. Though i just hate on the ski racers and slalom children because they think they are hotshit but they can't do anything except go a straightlined slope like a little girl.

The only snowboarders who argue over which sport is better are 11 year olds who cant actually do anything. most people realize that both sports are sick in their own ways. the real problem IMO is young annoying ski racers.

I'm still laughing at this.. That said, skiers are in general way bigger jock-o-douchebags. Did you hear some of them are starting some sort of MMA training camp? Seriously. So maybe if you fancy yourself a jock, then you should ski. But if you’re actually cool (or at least think you are), then snowboarding is much more likely to keep you that way.

That doesn't make any fucking sense. Not too seem angry. But it makes no difference that the ski tips or tails hang off. The tail and/or nose of a board still hangs off too... It's the same shit either way. Don't believe me, go try it on skis and tell me it doesn't feel exactly the same other than body position.

I ski and snowboard and love to do both.  My best friend snowboards and I love skiing with him and other snowboarders. I've never had problems with any of them hating on me for skiing and none of my skiing dudes ever hate on snowboarders, with the exception of the gaper boarders who sit at the top of the park on their asses and WATCH everyone, talking shit on fellow snowboarders and skiers alike.

And it looks so sick when a snowboarder and skier lap the park together, throwing down smooth tricks right after one another.  My all time favorite picture is of my best friend and I throwing down off a booter side by side.

Not on a board no. But I have buddies that ride both and tell me it's fairly similar. Unless I'm thinking of a blunt on a board. It obviously is going to be a bit different on skis. But not by much as far as I have heard.

I have to let you all know, on my home mountain, I'm afraid to go to the parks sometimes. When I drop in to the park, I get made fun of because I'm a girl skier. Only the pre-pubescent snowboarders make fun. They think they run shit which is annoying as hell.

the only legit presses i have done or seen have been done on boxes. and i mean real presses by the snowbard definitoin where you are straight on with the rail 50 50 syle and the board or skis are actually flexed. skiers do nose and tail slides which are cool too but dont qualify as a real press. untill i see a skier nose press a down bar snowboarding will have the upper hand in this department.

my personal opinion on the matter is that both are awesome sports but i find more idiots snowboard then ski. like i love skiing with a good a snowboarder they look very fluid.  however when a see a snowboarder going down a hill sideways like the whole hill i want to take of my ski and hit him with it. not to mention, i almost hit/hit an uncountable amount of snowboarders cause they are sitting in the middle of a cat track around a corner or right below the lip of cat track and never come close to hitting skiers

in summary the sport of snowboarding is cool but i find it attracts to many idiots who come out 3 times a year to scrape off all the snow on the hill
