before you read this, i would like to say that while, yes, i am a snowboarder, i have nothing against skiers. i just thought this was a funny article and wanted to share. no harm no foul.

There is a forum dedicated to these little ski shits where they take cute little pictures of themselves all suited up and post them. Then they talk about how sick their kit is and how huuuge their 14 shirts are and how saggin’ their pants are. If that isn’t the epitome of gay butt-fucking I don’t what is. If you ski, fuck you. But as a snowboarder, I think skiing is dope. Which is probably why I am on Newschoolers, on top of all the other snowboarders here... If you don't like skiing, then why are you on Newschoolers? (that comment isn't directed to OP but to the others who responded)

I ski almost exclusively with snowboarders.
Why?
Because there's a bigger dichotomy between alpine skiers and newschool skiers than there is between newschool skiers and snowboarders.

I just like when boarders hate on skiers for doing like "a millions switch-ups." Don't get me wrong, when someone switches up a bunch of times and it looks sketchy, then yea it looks bad....Just like a penciled out 10 looks bad. But the only reason why anyone would hate on someone switching up a rail 3-4 times smoothly and all steezy is cause they know they could never do it...cause lets face it when it comes to rails, skiers are in a whole other league than boarders. not hating but having "two planks" gives skier way more control and way more ability on rails/boxes

Ive skied almost my whole life, but I have respect for everyone. If you can throw down on the slopes, it doesn't matter what you have, you have my respect In a lot of ways, boarding has really been leading the charge in improvement in the pipe and such.

I dont know a single "newschool" skier who dislikes snowboarding, or snowboarders, but fucking every single snowboard douchefag who thinks he's the shit, thinks that he is just soooooo much cooler than everybody that skis. Snowboarders hate skiers, skiers are indifferent about snowboarders.

You make a good point. I guess it just shows that a lot of skiers just want to have fun while a lot, but not all boarders feel like they have to be better than another group, which happens to be skiers. I guess they're self conscious or something.

I have a friend who snowboards, and I've been skiing with him for years. He's not like that. That's why I'm so confused.

that thread made zero valid points, i dont even feel offended, i just don't understand why skiing and snowboarding has to be about anything but having fun. That said i think people just get insecure with their own ability level and how they look so they feel the need to rip on each other.

Freestyle skiing looks like a bunch of dudes with Cerebral Palsy flying through the ari. Two skis, two poles and big ugly, single-person game of twister that looks like shit. There is no trick in freestyle skiing that looks clean or has style.

It’s the 90′s equivalent of the rollerblading craze. No matter how high they go or what trick names the swipe from board sports, it still looks like shit and eventually it will go away.

2. Skiing still sucks to learn. You gotta figure out what do with with all that extra equipment and how to keep both those sticks pointing the same way. It can take years just to get semi okay at it. Snowboarding takes three days, tops, before you can make it down the hill without looking retarded. Then you can spend the rest of your life trying to learn tricks.

So you are saying, that snowboarding is cooler because it is easier?
