I cant stand people who think Skullcandy is anything more than ok. Their weak plastic headphones with no sound quality at all. I dont see whats so awesome about them. Just because they have graphics on them doesn't make them sound better
no i agree with you.. the difference between skull candy and other good quality headphones is tremendous.. i think the only reason people use them is because it is easier to hear people while still listening to music. other than than the icons, there is no reason to buy them
When I'm skiing i am not worried about perfect sound quality. On the other hand Skullcandys are rediculously comfortable and easy to use when skiing and are pretty reliable. I've had my icons ,which I got for free at a Skullcandy event, for 3 seasons and they still work fine.
Ease of use, reliability and a sick company backing > marginally better sound quality.
well some people do enjoy their products, i do i have 2 pairs of icons they are great for sports especially skiing, you get what you pay for i paid about 20 for icons and they work just fine and are pretty sturdy and since they stay on while i ride and give me tunes i cant be mad about that, i mean yeah there are ther products that are better than skullcandy like nixon and wesc, but they are really expensive
They look lind of that cool, people who say they're acoustically good are ignorant, they break fairly frequently, and to be fair the company backs its product and replaces broken units.
You could either construe Skullcandy's product as a waste of money (hassle, bad sound), or an excellent investment (lifetime of replacements, cool looking). To each his own.
People buy them because of marketing. It's a lot like Bose: everyone thinks they're the best, they hear about how awesome they are through word of mouth, and the uneducated consumer buys them.
Skullcandy is a fashion brand, not an audio brand. Not that there's anything wrong with that. They're not trying to compete with high end audio; they know their audience and they market to it extremely well.
Now you're just being ignorant. Also my metal titans have held up very well. For $40 I got headphones that never fall out of my ear, cancel out a decent amount of sound, have that durable cord that is not rubber, look cool, and on top of that they came with a nice little hard case and two sets of different earpad sizes. Yes i realize they were a little more but they are still good for a value earphone.
the new skullcandy aviator is actually REALLY GOOD sound quality. I have it, and when i bought it at the apple store, it was just as good or better in most cases as all the other headphones that you could demo, and the only reason the beats by dre were better, was they had noise canceling, the aviators were much better quality too
Are you serious? Bose only advertises and uses "noise cancelling" because they started out with shitty speakers, skullcandy has tight styling, great quality, and greay veriety
If you think the headphones at the mac store are good, i can see why you buy skullcandy...have you even listened to a pair of good headphones? Senheiser, Steel Series, Audio Technica, Grado, listen to them and then tell me skullcandy has good audio quality
great quality? now this is a dumb post. great style and variety, yeah i'll agree with you on that but like I said I have never had a pair of skullcandy's last more than a week. that includes 3 pairs of icons, 1 pair of lowriders, 2 pairs of smokin' buds, 1 pair of FMJ's and 1 pair of Inked. I'm not dumb enough to drop this much cash on headphones and got most of these for free/as gifts. None lasted over a week without at least one of the ears blowing out. Skullcandy is garbage, I will be very surprised if yours last longer than a month.
I dont think bose is the best, But i have had bose headphones and listened to other headphones. And My dad has a bose system in his car and bose is definately top quality in sound.
They're simplistic, cheap, and are just loud enough to keep the tune in your head when ripping down a run. also they're barely noticeable while skiing. I met a kid skiing with Beats by Dre over the weekend, cool kid, but why the fuck do you actually want to Listen, like really listen, to your music while you ski? i like just having a beat in my ear
i agree that their headphones are really bad quality. I worked at a ski shop which has them and they cost under 5 dollars to make.
However, icons and the best for skiing and look pretty sick.
For music, spend the cash and get some Beats!
i personally love shredding with music in my ears, Beats by Dre would be sick to shred with but really not functional. i crank my 6 dollar panosonic headphones (which have just as good if not better sound quality than skullcandy's) at full blast every run. one day i plan on dropping like $800 on these special headphones you can get molded to your ears, 100% noise cancellation, that would be the best.
yeah man that tends to happen alot with cheap manufacturing . The speakers didnt blowout, you probly just pulled on the line to hard which can be fixed by soldering the broken wires together, but not really worth it i guess haha.
funny you would say that cause I just picked up a pair of WESC Pick Up's and they are DOPE. The sound quality is amazing for the price I got them for...
yeah they are for sure stepping up, i was in Nyc a few days ago at a trade show, and checked out all of wesc, scullcandy, and beats by Dre new shit. there are alot of good headphones out there.
i had like 3 pairs of broken icons in my room, and i sent em back and just got new pairs, i think that i'll keep two and send em back whenever they break then used the other, and vice versa
they're not that bad for what they are, cheap fucking headphones that break like no other
My buddy has those, hes a professional percussionist. They are sooooo sick and def worth the cash...thats a great buy. He uses them shredding and his only complaint is that they dont fit in some helmets well.
ive had a pair of ink'd which lasted about 2 months at the most until the sound started in one ear just went to shit, so i had to keep bending the jack to fix it, when i jsut go fed up with in the end, so i just pulled both of the earphones off and threw them off the chair lift, my icons are ok, but for $50, i live in the uk, so they are more expensive, are just a piece of shit as well, then i got a pair of titans which i was stoked on for about 3 weeks as i paid $20 for them until they suddenly broke in one ear. skullcandy's suck. but hey, at least i have still got the cool little sticker that came with them!
