show on the BBC, fucking incredible. if you haven't heard about it i highly suggest watching an episode. its about cars but there's so much funny shit thrown in that if you're not a gear head, you'll still find it highly enjoyable.

yeah, I caught the tail end of the 60 minutes show. I've seen all episodes of all 15 seasons, needed something to do on drugs after shoulder surgery, and top gear was it

Agreed, the greatest comedy has always come from Britain. Hell, Simon Pegg alone could take down American comedy, even without help from Monty Python or Balls of Steel. (Just throwing out some favorites).


An American I'll always be, but with British comedy my heart does rest.

Fuck that. Give me one well thought out reason that my post further proves your point.

My point was that anybody who can claim "America could never produce anything nearly as witty, funny or edgy" as Top Gear is a close minded dick who uses vague responses that he thinks sound deep and witty, but are in fact mere dimwitted twaddle.

I like Top Gear and the dry sense of humor of the three guys, but don't seriously try to suggest it is better than any show America has ever produced.

I dont care if its scripted, I just dont want it to be obviously scripted. The Botswanna special was fine, the Polar special was fine, but the Vietnam one was just... atrocious. Bolivia was better, but still... errrrgggggg, fucking up my favorite program makes me ANGRY.

He said it proved his point because you made a really unfunny joke. And if you really think that quote was him trying to sound witty you need to get off your computer and read a book, even just watch T.V. and find out what witt is.
BTW think of how many shows America has coppied from Britain. Im not saying this is a bad thing as many shows such as the longest yard are really funny and if i didnt have a pirated copy it may be one of my favorite films. Also just look at all the Americans in this thread that have backed it up. Its nothing to be embarressed about, its just the ability to make funny films.

I understand your anger, but it must be hard to be constantly thinking of amusing "accidents" or "coincidences" on the spot or in a meeting room.

Vietnam scripted = horrible

Reliant Robin scripted; had me wetting myself for days. (don't think you guys have Reliants in the US, may have detracted from the situation, dunno.)

I haven't seen a lot, but what irritates me is the fucking audience, standing around and looking embarrassed and stiff all the time. The race across Japan with car vs. bullt train was magnificent.

Top Gear is funny, although it is scripted.

If anyone has seen the episode where they take a BMW M3 and do a 24 hour race around Silverstone using the 3 presenters and Stig, then they will know how much I love that show!
