First off, I will agree that I have never heard a good dubstep song in an edit, so I do see where you're coming from. I do, however, feel compelled to stand up for a truly incredible genre. I will also admit that very popular dubstep sucks dick. Caspa, Mt. Eden, Datsik, Excision, It's terrible.

But to everybody saying dubstep is awful, basing this decision on Caspa, Datsik, or whoever else 14 year old wannabe hippy girls call dubstep these days, you say this in ignorance.

So please, everybody, do some musical research before you walk around trying to make funny analogies about what dubstep sounds like. It makes you seem like an ignorant ass hole to anybody that knows even the slightest bit about dubstep.

/rant, you're still invited to hate dubstep, I'm just trying to make a step forward.

I'll stop there. Of course there will be people that just plain don't like dubstep, just give it a chance past the awful dubstep you've probably been exposed to.

haha. I love how big this got. So I hated dubstep two years ago cause its all my roomate listened to. Now I love it. I spent the last year traveling thousands of miles to shows and festivals. Ive seen almost every dj you guys have mentioned here and personaly met the majority of them. Everyone has his own style and you cant hate on any of them cause they all add to dubstep as we know it. Bassnectar has used so many remixes in his sets by djs you guys said sucked.

Excision is more grimmy then a lot of people like. Caspa, benga, and coki all cool hombres. Datsik isnt that into fans, just wants to play his music which is cool. Borgore has some great drop lines. His song love, so classic. But his voice sucks. If he didnt use his voice hed be so much better.

As for rusko. Ive never met anyone so chill and down to earth for how famous he is. Best night of my life was walking down a sketchy street in boston eating hotdogs with him after his show in august. Hes a great guy and an even more amazing artist. Only sad thing about him is that hes working with Britney Spears on her next cd. Can you say GAY!! ...or WAKE THE FUCK UP!

How about we forget all about the electronic bullshit made on computers, and go back to listening to actual MUSIC made on MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS.... Computerized music takes no talent, a 5 year old could do it... all you need is loud bass and annoying noises, and a few hundred thousand people jacked up on E or K who will dance to anything and, like sheep, go where they are told, and do what they are told.

Also.... REAL music doesn't HAVE to be listened to loud.... REAL music makes you WANT to listen loud.... Put down the CPU, pick up a guitar, bass or drums... maybe after a few years of dedication to a single instrument before you can even be considered to be adequate will make you realise..

I like most versions of dub. WHatever you want to call them i don't really care. The genre itself really spans a wide variety of feeling. From dark and scary to stuff thats more uplifting and intensifying. Thats what i like about it. You can mess around with the same ingredients to make a multitude of different meals. I do admit SOME songs absolutely suck the dick.... but have you listened to "friday" by rebecca black??? or beiber in general. All music isnt perfect and thats why we have opinions. So lets party, get super fucked and mash to some bass.

i either listen to music with my klipsch rf-7's or my sennheiser headphones. so not through shitty ipod headphones. and really it sounds like shit either way. and yes ive been to partys with dubstep and it makes it even worse.

dubstep is too superficial for me. i dont hear emotions and feeling when i listen to it, just sounds. i think it sounds cool, but i cant listen to it just for the sake of listening to it like i can led zepplin, for example.

I enjoy dubstep, but only certain types. not a fan of the super hyped up stuff with soooo much going on, it hurts my brain. I prefer a little more laid back sort of style where I don't feel like my ears are being fornicated by a 12 inch long robot penis.
