i'm about to get two alpine type r subs-12"
what should i be looking for in terms of amps? i need something reliable that will get the job done that doesn't absolutely kill me financially-help?

What are the max power on them or the rms power ratings for em.

From a guess that they are 12" each get a 1000 watt amp. If you want to really have em hitting hard bridge the amp so its a mono channel and then youll be bumpin

Have you ever built a system? These are some really stupid, uninformed suggestions. You're seriously guessing the wattage by what size they are? I know 12s that couldn't handle more than 250w and 12s that could handle 2000+. also, the shit about bridging is idiotic, you probably run something that advertises it's "max" wattage.

First of all, monoblock only for subs. What vc setup do these have? I can't do much research I'm posting from my phone right now. I'm assuming you saw my vid in the other thread(I just got your pm) that was running a cadence z series amp, which (back when I was running stuff) was the best deal in the game. Honestly tho, all my info about car audio is probably 2-3 years old.

Above all, just know that max wattage means absolutely nothing, and if something advertises a max it's likely not that good. rms rms rms!
