how is your life different from non-skiers?  do you think you have a different outlook on life in general?

everything i do is based around skiing, sleeping, being comftorable, and sitting in my hot tub. in that order. other things come way down the list

It's the other way around. People with a different outlook on life are skiers (/snowboarders/skaters/BASE jumping instructors/etc).

when its 40 deg outside and raining in portland i know its dumping on hood. and im happy to watch it rain as long as i know its snowing.

Makes me think of the sayings "better a bad day on the slopes than a good day in the office" or "my life is better than your vacation". I guess skiing just makes me think about everything in a more positive way.

i ski more, talk about skiing more, and skiing gave me much more self confidence..
i can't even image my life without skiing. i guess it would be nerdish as hell..

for one, i actually have something that me and my ski friends can do other than just hang around and get high and not really do anything. ive also found that with a true passion for skiing like i have, i always look forward to that one thing..

Like someone earlier in this thread I also chose my college/career based on its proximity to snow. So yes at least for me my outlook on life is vastly influenced by skiing. One might say might outlook on life is tinted through snow goggles.

Much different. People who don't ski or snowboard hate winter, they dread it. Kids who don't ski or board actually finish school on time because they take more than 12 credits in the winter. I find that they always have another sport or big time hobby like skiing though, so in some ways they are similar, but in a different way.

I totally agree with this. I have meet my closest friends through skiing. Its hard to explain just how much skiing has shaped and will shape my life to come.

Umm, it affects what I paint in art, I wear a saggy touque and various colours & assortments of bandannas almost all through the schoolyear, and I also think like this:

Freakin love the winter cuz in Vancouver you can ski and bike in the same day...

Music is better cuz you think about what kind of edit you could throw together and how a run with that song would go.

I've shaped my entire life around skiing. Litterally all my thought, energy and passion goes into it. I <3 skiing. Alot of non skiers don't have a passion for something like how we as skiers have a passion for skiing.

i think it's a lot different. i still have non skier girl friends but it sucks cuz all i want to talk about it skiing specially in the winter.  i care more about my skis than what i care about make up and clothes naahmean.
