Summer set up info plz

just a few questions i have concerning building a summer jib which i will probably start building later this week.

1) how tall would i need my drop in for an 8 foot rail. i am using astro with construction fence on top. my garden is also on a reasonable slope about 10 degrees?

2)how long do you need inbetween the rail and the bottom of the transition

There's lots of good info in the Build a Jib 101 cult.
But it's all about personal preference. I'd have maybe 15ft in between the rail/in-run ramp to give enough room to set up. The ramp could be around 4-5ft tall depending on how much time you want to put into it and how much speed you want. There's no good formula, just basic guidelines. My advice would be to look at pictures of other people's setups and go off of that.

Good idea to wait until the beginning of winter to build your summer setup.
