crossing the border with a pipe

If I cross from Canada into the US with a pipe that is unused, is that legal? I heard somewhere that its illegal just to be in possesion of a pipe in the US.

as long as it is brand new or has only been used for tobacco use your are fine, its just a pipe. but if it has resin or you have bud on you you could be very very fucked. Also where are you crossing the border?

just dont declare it, i cross the border with one all the time. but then again it depends on the circumstances. they can not stop you from coming in with it if its unused. and you dont need to buy tobacco. youll be fine.

not true, they can hold you and search your car, but if you havent done anything wrong theres nothing they can do other than that. as long as you have your ID youre fine. the borders arent really that big of a deal.

Thanks guys, I definately wont be crossing with any pot on me, and I'll be crossing around Vermont somewhere. I also have a work Visa so I should be ok getting in other than that.

in the US it is ILLEGAL to bring a pipe, bong now across the border or to possess, even if it is used for tobacco and just that - Chong from cheech and chong is in jail for one year (still in jail NOW) for just selling bongs through his company Chong Glass - if your in Canada why the hell would you want to go to the US anyways the good shits right here mang !

They ask you 'Where are you going? Who's with you? How long is your stay? Are you bringing any alcohol with you?' and stuff like that. Just answer their questions and drive through. They might ask for ID too. That's how it is in Michigan anyway.

i wouldn't but because you have to prove to them that it is for tabaccoo use. Also they are very strict about glass pipes and shit think about it they know what they are used for thats why J. Baker and Tommy Chong went down the gov. has started to crack down on glass pipes,bongs,kinfs, etc. used in smoking pot. not worth the hassel

id just really make sure it doesnt have any residual smell or is completly new, this one kid in my town came back with one (his car might have stank too), but they had the dogs at the boarder so they brought him into custody and cavity searched him, probably not likely to happen but shit like that can happen

so not worth it, one border guard has to be in a bad mood and your fucked, if its been used before and you have cleaned it they can still send it in and fine the smallest of tracing of weed and your fucked. i wouldn't worry to much about going into canada only about going into the states, border guards aren't stupid they know what a pipe is and what its used for and probably won't treat you to well even if they do let you in, your better off meeting someone in either country who has one and use thiers

hmm question.... just from all my experiences crossing the border (although i was usually with the parents) i was NEVER checked.. so lets say i have this pipe and it is used and hell its hidden in my stuff. how the hell are they going to know? you;re all saying if its cleaned really well etc they wont care. are you all declaring you have these pipes. because i dont see the point on having them clean if they dont even know its there.

at the same time, they have dogs and the dogs WILL pick up the smell. if you dont want to clean it, be really careful. i used to bring stuff across all the time and all i did was put it in a bag with cut up apples and coffee grounds. that masks the smell really well. i was never bothered. but a pipe is kind of different than a lb of weed.
