Don't look at trick tips. They only teach you how to do it their way. Each person has a preferred way to k-flip.
Since you are asking, I will say that I started out by putting my foot completley on the edge of the board right by the front bolts. It looked awful, but it worked. Slowly as you get more comfortable with them you can move your foot further down and more inwards. I now have the same foot positioning for my kickflip as my ollie. You get a lot more pop. It makes them look steezy as shit. That is if you practice enough. Just take it in steps guy.
