So last night I drove up to Lake George with some friends to watch the premier of Eye Trip. There were tons of banger shots and solid full segments, but something was lacking. After seeing Muddy Winter I expected more on the creative side of things. Throughout the entire movie there were barely any shuffles, presses, or taps which I grew to love after at least ten views of Muddy Winter. When it came to be Casabon's part I was expecting to see all these things seeing as he had them so dialed in, in Muddy Winter, however even with his big bag of tech tricks nothing left me as mind blown as his tail press on that S rail. I can most definitely say that in 15 minutes of Muddy Winter i thought to myself "HOLY SHIT" a lot more than in an entire hour of Eye Trip. The entire movie seemed to be missing those shots that maybe they didn't go 100ft in the air, but they did do something you would never think of doing in a thousand years. Maybe I'm just a little spoiled bitch who needs to get his priorities straight, but I do truly believe that the release of Muddy Winter right before Eye Trip made me expect something more and left me disappointed with Eye Trip.
I haven't seen muddy winters, but that being said, I have seen eye trip. But, there were definitely a lot of taps and shuffles in Eye Trip. Overall I feel like Eye Trip was good. Refresh was better because it gave off the incredible vibe of what the history of freestyle skiing has been, with an incredible soundtrack, so if anyone from Level 1 is reading this, for the 12th movie there should be more real music and less ski type music.
Im not saying it wasn't fire I'm just saying it wasn't as awesome as I know he has the potential to make it. And everyone saying Muddy Winter was filmed after I'm aware of that I just figured they were doing the same things all winter and I expected it in Eye Trip and thats what got me disappointed.
I always feel way different after watching the movies a few times than when I was in the premier environment. That's why I don't really care what anyone says in these threads, I've already watched Eye Trip 8 times. You don't know what's up yet.
This thread has nothing to do with which was better. It has to do with my expectations being raised after seeing muddy winter and not being reached to the extent that I had hoped. I just wanted to see if anyone else felt the same way.
And please everyone remember this isnt to convince me that Eye Trip was good I thought it was, I just expected more BnEeque stuff and I thought it was missing.
NO ONE UNDERSTANDS. I would much rather watch eye trip anyday, but seeing muddy made me expect some more of that steeze which wasnt as evident in eye trip.
Right, because Muddy Winter was filmed after most of if not all of the footy for Eye Trip was in the can.
Casabon and Harlaut are pushing the boundaries of what can be done with the newer style of jibbing every time they click in. It makes sense that what they did for Muddy Winter was a little crazier--they had more time to ski and explore what they could do.
Freak out if you dont like the same stuff they like...even if it has nothing with the current discussion on hand.
No worries Holiday...i can totally see what your saying on Phils part. Anyone intelligent enough to read the whole thread would understand where you are coming from due to the filming timeline. Of course though, some didnt even get a few posts deep before opening there mouths...figures!
