Line Sir Francis Bacon Mount Location?

Hi, Name is Jimmy and I ride @ Mt Hood. I am 6'1 & 185 lbs. I have 182 Sir Francis Bacon's and like to ride Pow & Park but mainly Pow. Where should I mount? Thanks

I have a hard time believing that. Recommended is 6 cm back from center and that seems really far back. I don't think Pollard mounts his that far back, at least doesn't seem so in videos of him skiing.

Well at the end of the day it's personal preference. Think about just how much you're going to be skiing the mountain vs park. I know you said mostly, but that means different things to different people. So will be park 40% mountain 60% or park 2% and mountain 98%? Just something to think about.

Also, think about how you plan to be skiing when you aren't in the park. How often are you riding switch vs. forwards? Are you just going to be skiing mellow stuff and doing small spins and messing around? Or are you going to be hitting legit cliffs, charging crud, and generally shredding the gnar?

if theyre not the rockered ones and your skiing any pow i would go more than 3cm back from true, 4 would be my choice, maybe 5 or 6 for alot of pow skiing

I'm getting the rockered ones in 182 cm. They're gonna be used for park* (about 40%), groomers (40%) and pow (20%). I like to ski switch too but skiing forward is more important. I thought about mounting 3 cm back from centre. Any insight?

*Park use will mostly be jibbing and jumps (I have another pair of skis for rails), no switch take-offs.

why are you getting bacons for park?  edge to edge takes like 5 minutes and they feel huge in the air, how much do you weigh?

I'm getting them for all-mountain. I demoed them and liked them so I don't see a problem. They're only 5 mm wider than Elizabeths too.

I'm 6' 150, and I have 182 bacons (non-rockered) mounted at -3cm from center. I find that's the perfect place for my riding style (lots of jibby stuff, pow, a fair amount of switch skiing, and a decent amount of groomers). I have managed to sink the tips pretty bad a couple times in deep, heavy, sticky snow though. Usually it's not a problem at all, but it wouldn't be fair to not include that in there. It's far enough forward that carving switch is definitely doable and stable though, and landing backwards in pow isn't bad.

They're sick skis, and I can only imagine that rocker will make them better. Would be nice to have a longer version now though since the rocker must make them feel shorter...

Second thread jack! I'm possibly getting the new ones for my all-mountain/pow ski, but lots of switch, i was thinking of going for -2cm, i think lots of people rode them there on the old ones and the sidecut is the same so? Any insights there from guys with the old ones?

Go center, everything Pollard will preform the best center. I've skied all 3 of his skis at multiple binding locations, and center it just right. You ever seen a pair of EP's, Bacons, or Liz's mounted back? It's just not right.

i like my lizzys at center but thats because i only ski rails with them

would take my ep's at like 1 or maybe 2 back i think theyre at center now or maybe 1 back

non rockered bacons at center would be a no way in hell, mine are at 3cm back and its not enough i would go 4 or 5 for non rockered

3 for rockered would probably be good tho

for mainly pow shreddin
