i also wondered this i bought bindings last weekend and i was considering the sth driver toe but the shop guy deterd me away from them. He told me that after a while the two bolts loosen up and you have to tighten then all the time, and so forth i bought the oversize.
The difference is the the toe piece. If you look at the toe piece of the Driver it looks like the old s914/s916 toe piece or the STH 16 toe piece, it's a more durable, more reliable toe piece cause the wings on the side are stronger and there's less plastic and the plastic that is there is all around strong cause of it's shape and design. So yes, the Driver is better than the regular STH, but that doesn't mean the regular toe piece is crap, they're just not as strong as the driver and have more plastic.
And, pretty decent is kinda an understatement in my opinion, if you notice, there are tons of pros that ride the STH 16 and the STH Driver is basically a lower DIN version of that, which is good, cause people want durable bindings but don't need 16 DINs.
Basically Flashkick helps with one side of ski equipment like bindings and skis and FTs a lot and onenerdykid helps a lot with boots. They're the two most legit guys on this site. Thanks to both of them.
