17 years... and now they are popping out for a few weeks. how of you have those ugly bugs out at your hometowns yet? we have only seen one so far, but they are slowly coming... and i am so freaked out!

theyll probably die before they reach Canada, I'm not too worried.

Once, a few years ago, there was this uprising of tiny fruit flies at my lake, but 95 % died within the first day and were just floating on the lake. The next day, they were gone and there were a few fish dead of overeating on the beaches.

i read that they dont bite or sting, which is good, but the idea of there being 50-100 in a sq yard disgusts me.

i got a tick bite once and i got this rash and shit and i had to get blood tests and stuff to make sure i didn't have lyme disease or w/e, it sucked

i live in cincinnati and the cicadas have started to come out already. at peak invasion they've projected to be about 5 billion cicadas in the tri-state region. they havent bothered me yet, all they do is make mad noise and chill on trees and other stationary objects.

they're only in certain regions of the country. like pretty much a large 1/4 of indiana gets them, most of the lower half of ohio does. all of kentucky and most of tennesee as well. georgia gets them but im not sure where. theres some places out west that gets them but i dont know where.
