do all the STH models have the same amount of travel in the track?

Yea i just tried to do a little research and from my understanding the plate is the same on the STH's so the track variation/travel should therefore be the same

Yeah, I'm almost positive that all the models have the same track and they just put a different heel piece on the track. The reason I'm pretty sure of this is because the Jig for the heel pieces of the STH 12s is the same jig for the 14s and 16s.

another question. does the Z12 have the same mount pattern/ track length as the STH series?

why are you askin about this? if youre buying skis with these bindings mounted, you can remount if you need to. It really isn't that big of a deal. if youre just wondering about general inquiries on bindings, NS isn't the right place to look.

go to your local shop, or email salomon directly.

theres a lot of members on NS who work at very reputable shops and know a thing or two, i bought some skis that are already drilled for sth's and just wanna know my options.

the sth and the driver series all have the same same heel track... the z series should have just as much adjustability

Does anybody know If the STH series has the same track as say the 912 or 914?

Sort of. There are 4 screws in the 9series. There is an extra 5th one for the sth. They share the same 4 holes, but the sth has an extra.

pretty sure the track length is the same

Here're the hole differences to the best of my knowledge

3-hole toe: STH 14, STH 12, Z-series
4-hole toe: s900 series (912, 914, 916), STH 16, STH 14 driver
4-hole heel: (all the same pattern): STH 14+12, s910, 12, 14, z-series
5-hole heel (5th screw goes under where the brakes attach): STH 16, s916, s920

The issue you run into is the LAB stuff. You can find older 912labs, with sth wormscrew heels.

yeah i think 916 LABs are wormscrew whereas normal s916's are track adjustment

No. All 916(now the sth16steel) and 920 are worm heels.

huh, all the pairs of 916's i've had were track adjustment, pretty sure only one pair of ninjas were labs

can someone explain what the wormscrew heel is? Ive only had experience with the track adjustment. is it the same hole pattern/ adjustability?

Same hole pattern + one extra screw

There is no tab to lift up, the heel is moved forward and back with the use of a screw.

More precise forward pressure adjustment.

Not to mention the whole system itself is 10x more durable.

Speaking of the STH16 Steel. (And I think I've asked this before), are they a special order? I can't find them anywhere, stores or online. Might not have looked hard enough online though. I don't even think I saw them on the Salomon site.

Limited release. Not a whole lot of shops picked them up mainly because the retail is 525.
