hey guys, im a law student in Houston. for the last couple seasons i lived/worked at Vail. after my last final on the 17th im going to be road tripping up to CO for about a month to ski, and im entertaining offers for gas money if anyone wants to ride along. my first destination will probably be vail, but i might stop at breck for a day if im too tired or it's too snowy to cross the pass when we get to silverthorne. ive done this drive probably 15 times, so i know what im doing, all you need to do is bring some gas/food money and cruise. i have a rack for skis so you dont need to worry about that. i can pick people up anywhere between houston and vail.
i consider this a good option for someone trying to plan a ski trip on short notice but who want to maybe save a little money on a flight and an airport shuttle (assuming it's not just cheaper to get a round-trip). you will, however, need to organize youre return trip, since i will be in CO for almost a month and ill be driving back and forth to Jackson, WY once or twice so i probably wont be able to drive you to the airport or anything. i also cant really help you with accommodations, most of my friends will have multiple guests around this time so im scrounging for couches as is, my ideal road-trip partner candidate would already have some sort of lodging plan or group to meet up with. we can definitely ski together though if you want, i know most of the I-70 mountains pretty well and i can show you some good spots.
obviously these are some pretty specific parameters, but the bottom line is: one-way ride to vail or points in between on dec. 17th, any takers?
