Replying to Slimer outerwear and America?

I'll be living in Breckenridge for this winter, and am looking at getting some slimmer outerwear this season. I'm not really that into the whole gangster stuff that's going on right now. And being 5'7" skinny, white English boy living in America for the winter - I can imagine getting quite a bit of hate with slimmer outerwear. Is it generally well recieved, or does the slimmer outerwear have a bad reputation over the pond?
