Camera advice. . .

Alright I need the advice of Newschoolers. I shoot with a Canon Rebel XS, and I was considering upgrading to a T2i. But I was also looking into getting a GoPro. Question is, should I save up and trade in my XS for a T2i or should I keep my XS and just buy a GoPro?

Go with the t2i, it has all that you want (video and photo) in one camera and is way more flexible. It's a great camera and is worth it for sure.

truth. the GoPro is really fun, but it's only good for so much. You basically have to shoot POV/unusual angles, it's not really intended to be used as a normal camera. With the T2i, you can learn about how to work a camera and you'll progress so much more

This pretty much sums it up, except you wont learn too much how a camera works.
HDSLRs are basic cameras when it comes to shooting video. They are good for beginners to get used to color correction and learn about aperture and shutter speed.
Unfortunately HDSLRs are not good for audio (no XLR inputs and you cant adjust audio levels on the t2i) and they are not really adjustable.
Seems like you are looking to take photos too, so yeah I would suggest a t2i.
Like he said, go pros are really only good for specific things and the t2i is more flexible.

If you are looking to get into filming and not as much photography then I wouldnt recommend getting a hdslr.

Oh, I'm definitely more a photographer than a videographer, but if I were to get a GoPro, I'd be keeping my XS. But I am leaning towards the T2i. Thanks for all the advice.
