dont worry you'll be able to ski in no time, i sprained my ankle last year at the end of september and was still able to ski opening day at abay. it also kinda just depends on your pain tolerance but im sure it will be all good.
ive broken each ankle requiring surgery and sprained each ankle about 4-5 times. on each occasion my ankle turned into a grapefruit. the swelling is always very tender, so the boot is going to be incredibly uncomfotable. but at least in a boot youre locked in compared to that of a basketball shoe or football cleat. now the chance of making it worse is so much higher if its already sprained...stretching the ligaments in your ankle is never what you want if you dont want to make them weaker. a sprain is tolerable but if you roll it while its sprained youre going to be in some pain. a sprain is going to hurt for a number of weeks if you keep on it.
with ankles, its play at your own risk. i move very fast so im always prone to hurting my ankle. the best thing for it is strengthening and getting them stronger.
