How can you use the Flip Video Mino HD for skiing?
I got the flip mino hd for xmas last year. The camera is great and all, good quality etc. the only problem is, the stuff i want to use it for (skiing, biking etc.) i cant. Especially skiing! i am getting one of those action mounts and action tripods for it for biking. But my problem now is that i dont want to use it with the mounts when i go skiing because it will get wet. I was considering buying a go pro hd. But i dont have the money and it would kind of be pointless because i already have a pretty good flip video. I know there are water proof cases out there for the flip mino hd. But i want to be able to mount it, but then also keep it waterproof.. Does anyone have any hints on what i can do, or what i should do? i would really appreciate it, and i would like to be able to actually take advantage of having a camera this year. +k for help and bumps! thanks
Ian provo used to use a nylon bag over his camera before he had a gopro. And he just holds it on a bipod. On vimeo, look at some of the comments on his videos, its in there somewhere.
ill check those videos out. and its not as simple as that to return it and get a go pro... i wouldnt be able to return it because it has been to long, and i would have to spend more money to get a go pro because the cost of selling this wouldnt cover the go pro. and i dont want to go thorough the hassel of selling it elsewhere for a lower price then what i got it from
I have the same camera and if you look on the bottom, tree is a small hole where a screw could go. That is a standard tripod mount so all you need to do is find a standard mount that would easily mout on what you want. I did this with a mount I found at target or something and use it as a helmet cam with good results.
thats what i am gonna probbly do, but what about water proofing? or making it more water resistent. I dont want snow to melt or get on it and ruin it... and the other problem i heard was that it doesnt have an internal stabilizer or something like that, so when you do a helmet cam or put it on a bike it can get really shaky..
