So today I tried on my old SPK boots and I flexed them. It refreshed my memory how bad the flex is. My local shop just started carrying Full Tilt so I decided to go check them out. They carry the Hot Dogger, the High Five, and the Booter. The smallest size they for all three boots at the moment was a 27. I normally ski a 26.5 in my SPK's. First I tried on the High Five. It was very hard for me to flex, felt a little stiffer than my SPK's. (I am 140 lbs and 6ft tall). Next, I tried on some Booters. The flex on these felt really good, a little on the soft side, but not too bad, but they were just too wide for me. My foot was moving all over the place. Then, I tried on the Hot Dogger. These boots felt awesome. The flex was perfect. The boot just seemed too wide for me. Especially around the ankle, the boot just did not grip too well. So I guess my question is for you guys is: Is the classic going to be the right boot for me? Also, does Full Tilt minimize volume with every half size down like some boot companies, or do they just minimize the length when dropping a half size?
Note: The boots were all too big. I am for sure a size 26 or 26.5!
