iPod battery problem

What exactly was/is the problem with the battery & has it been fixed for the most recent generation of iPods? Also, is the same problem present in the iPod Mini?

Ok, i'm against abortion, big government. They believe that the gov't should tax for things like welfare & in doing so encourage people to not work because it's easier to not work & get paid for it.

You aren't. You would be if you were against what liberalism stands for, but it turns out you just don't know what liberalism is, which is what I thought. You watch a lot of Fox News, I guess? Read some J.S. Mill. On Liberty, for example. Until you have some basic idea with regard to what you're talking about, you might want to take that out of your sig so as to appear less ignorant. I offer this as a suggestion that I believe would be in your best interests.

^Well now you're making an ass of yourself. Socialism and communism have sweet fuck all to do with liberalism. Socialism emphasizes the primacy of the state, whereas liberalism promotes the individual. If he were to say, 'I hate leftist thinkers', that might have made sense, but he doesn't, and neither do you. Quit grouping all the ideologies you don't like, and try understanding the premisees behind them. You might, in this case at least, be the one who wants to ''shut the fuck up''. Again, this is merely a suggestion that I believe is amenable to your interests.

Just as people in the early part of the 20th century looked down on black people because of so-called scientific facts that said the negro race was incapable of developing higer levels of intelligence. Basically, that the battery would no longer hold a decent charge after about 18 months (after the warrantee had expired) and it costs a couple hundred bucks for a new batt.

ok maybe the concept of individualism and communalism are different, but when you look at the policies that each type of leftist government have, you can see a clear connection,

1. all three of these idealisms favor a storng central government, liberal democrats favor a strong central government over states right, socialists also favor a strong central government and they control certain businesses and keep them under strict monopolization, and communists are horribly opressive bastards

2. all three have some system for helping the poor and all three believe that everyone is equal, liberals have welfare which supposedly gives the poor people an equal chance but most of the people on welfare sit on their ass and dont deserve it but liberals still dish the money out, and socialists have even more elaborate wellfare systems, and government owned businesses to keep proces low on certain items, and communists are obviously all about poor people

Lineskier: As I said, welfare is not a liberal policy. Some self-professed liberals subscribe to it, but it isn't inherently liberal. As I sad, it's a principle of social democracy. Secondly, conservativism (and all decent people) agree that all people are equal. Thirdly, central government is NOT necessary to liberalism. Ever heard of Milton Friedman? A liberal. Was strongly in favour of relaxed government regulation and the promotion of the corporate community as a counterbalance to political power. Basically, Libertarianism. You should look into what falls into each category, and where they blur. It's interesting.

1. maybe it isnt inherently liberal, but it is a policy that liberals support today, and a lot more liberal support it today then republicans

2. conservatism favors elites a lot more than liberalism does, if it didnt then liberals wouldnt be complaining that the tax cut was only in favor of the rich

3. just because one liberal supported states rights, doesnt mean that throughout the history of the democratic party, and even when it was the jeffersonian republican party, a strong central government has been a liberal and democratic policy since the late 1700s, you cannot argue that

yeah but almost all liberals are democrats and vice versa, and i dont think that conservatism is that elitist, i only think that in some instances it gives people with more money some benefits, when some people want to tax their hard earned money away, and i think that our welfare system really doesnt work, so i dont support that one aspect of liberalism, i do however support some more moderately liberal policies concerning the environment, civil rights, and the right of abortion

I love how JD can impress people with shit you should have learned in 9th grade. Or perhaps none of you are that old yet...

Either way, JD is correct, but why he insisted on harping on language baffles me. Yes, liberalism, socialism, communism differ greatly in their formal definitions, but unless you've lived in a vacuum your entire life you would know that the word liberal has taken on a colloquial meaning. In common speech it is used to refer to all the parties to the left of the political median.

To say that someone is ignorant for using that term is like criticizing someone for saying 'bug' instead of recalling some precise latin name for a certain irritating insect.

^Got me into University. Gets me scholarships to pay for that. Will, I hope, eventually get me into law school (along with other things). But more broadly, ignorance is fine for you; you don't want to do anything (as you just said). For these people who are trying to take an active role in the political community, a little awareness and education couldn't hurt.
