I remember reading an article on what we want vs what we got.
1.want:male birth control
  got: male pregnancy  (transexual)
2. want: cheap rewable energy
   got: expensive fossile fuel
3. want: flying cars
   got: SUVs
there were like 10 of these. some were quite hilarious

definitly thought provoking with some interesting thoughts.

people in general can't think for themselves and follow the masses. In this new age it's possible for the goods mentioned to be completely free or a lot cheaper IF everyone on the planet was smart enough to innovate. Right now a tiny tiny percentage of the world actually creates new ideas or content, most people do labor that will soon be replaced with machines be it thinking or robots.

IMO the biggest problem with the world is education. Bigger than war, religion, race or anything else. If everyone was smart enough to realize that all of that doesn't matter and instead put their minds towards creating and advancing human civilization the world would be infinitely better. I feel like this is against human nature and that humans are doomed to either destroy themselves or become one giant system of existence and nothing else.
