Hey guys,

Being the little idealistic troublemaker I am (check out my ride's ;-) ), I was stupid enough again to get myself into a discussion with some (extreme) rightwing morons on the republican site www.gopusa.com. The discussion was about ALL enviromentalists being considered the equal as criminals and terrorists and so on. You could pretty well say it was me against everyone. Not that that makes a lot of difference for me, it figures you know, and while everyone was pushing each other to make an even 'bolder' statement, king moron #1 came up with this one:

'God made this planet for us to use. If we do not use it then we are in effect ignoring God's will. I'm not concerned with the preservation of all these animals. If they are meant to survive then they will. Survival of the fittest just like in business.

If some green nut tries to throw paint on one of my wife's fur coats they'll have to scrape him off the front of my car.'

original heuh?

Since most of you guys come from the US, please tell me that this guy is a raving lunatic and and a minor exception in your country.

what has gone so horribly wrong with our political and education system that a prominent buisnessman (im assuming because his wife has more than one fur coat) can think like than and even worse, believe it?

Here's one of my favourites. Makes me wonder how the southern half of the U.S. hasn't managed to destroy itself by now. From the frequently asked questions page of the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laborotory:

Jebb, Dubya' s bro, (dont ask what kinda name jebb is) runs the state into the ground everyyear with HORRIBLE budgets, and he sells state protected areas to build factories there. whats really sad is that he is destroying the only tropical rainforest in the contiguous US, it's kidna small, but so beautiful. It will be gone in about 5 years completely due to the fact that he sold off land at the base of the spring that supplies the river and they are building a concrete plant or something like that there. fuck, i hate all the Bushes.

to answer the original question, no these people aren't a prominent majority of america, however, they are quite proud of their ignorance and choose to speak out whenever they have the soapbox to stand upon. ive always wondered why people hate hippies, and i think its because people that hate hippies have either

environmentalists would shut down our entire country if they had their way. How many factories giving off the horrible air pollution that make everything we use every day would we have? How many cars would we have even if those factories were there to make them? How would we be able to turn on a light or run a shower would we have since they waste electricity and water?
I will say that environmentalist type regulation is good to a certain degree. but most environmentalists suck.

ok. that eased me off a bit. Altough I don't agree with every action Greenpeace undertakes (sometimes they tend to ask too much), it was me who asked what their opion about president Bush comdemning Greenpeace as criminals and terrorists(they sure love that word!!)was. This concerning the protests against the illegal cuttings in South America last year.

First I got a lot of dodgings of the question whining about God, the almighty Dollar and their pickup truck, while at the end when they realised that they didn't have a solid argument, they gave me the answer:

'well, it's not in the US so it's none of our concern'.

That must have been the most egoistic, short-sighted and hypocrite answer i've ever received on that matter.
