^I know a lot of people who say things like that about political affiliations because they look on them as some sort of team thing; you pick a team, and everyone else is the opponent and therefore the enemy. Nevermind that both sides want the best for the country (albeit they have different percetions of what is, in fact, best). It's particularly prevalent among Americans, many of whom seem to have the same attitude towards nationality; 'We're better than everyone else, this is the best country, all you other countries suck, I hate french people,' and so on. Again, a minority. But that's often where the 'hate' comes from... and it's entirely arbitrary; there's nothing that even remotely resembles basis for their animosity. Sure, if you ask, they'll come up with some standard criticisms of their opponents, but it's just a regurgitation. Few people, when they know what they're talking about, ever 'hate' an ideology. Usually it's the people who don't understand that ideology that say these things. Not to generalize, or anything.
