HELP ME WITH MY ANATOMY HOMEWORK

Situation: It's Halloween and you are going house to house trick or treating with your friends. your friends dare you to go knock on the the door of your creepy and scary neighbor. As you approach the front door you get that sick feeling in your stomach that something just isn't right! You knock on the door. Suddenly the door swings open. Somthing or someone jumps out at you. You scream! You run back towards where your friends are but they are gone. You collapse. DISCUSS what reactions happen on/to your Integumentary System during this frightening event. Why did your integumentary system respond this way?

i dont get how this has to do with a integumentary system, i THINK all that system does is like protect you, for example, its your skin, nails, hair. also has other functions as well, i think like regulating your temperature. also its the largest organ system in the human body.

no idea if that helps.

this has no link between the interrogatory system or whatnot. It has to do more the excretion and nervous system.

that has no link to the integumentary system. but your adrenal glands release Epinepherine and norepinepherine, which raises your heartrate, the only link i can think of to the integument is that your hair on your body will raise because the erector pilli muscles pull them up, but idk what that teacher is looking for. What level anatomy is this?

The A&P class I'm taking right now uses a college textbook, so it's probably around early college level. To answer your question, that would be the sympathetic nervous system which is what triggers the fight-or-flight responses in your body.

haha no worries, all this has been helpful, only problem is, that i do have to answer the question regarding the integumentary system, and all you guys say it doesnt have to do with the integumentary system.....

i took the same course last year. you were scared and passed out, not uncommon. I don't even see how that relates to the integumentary system. I guess since skin is part of it, you probably sweat and became flushed  which doesn't mean you'll pass out. But that happens when you get scared.

the only thing i can think of that has to do with the skin is more of a cardiovascular thing. The blood vessels in the skin constrict and shunt blood away from the skin and more towards skeletal muscles as part of the sympathetic nervous system kicking in. This is why your face turns white when you get scared and stuff, but its a cardiovascular responce, not an integumentary responce

adrenaline makes more blood go to muscles needed (for running) so less goes to your head/brain so you pass out???
