Is anyone else noticing that the Oakley ads disable all the links to forums and content above them when they open fullsize?

They disable everything except the NS logo in the top left hand corner, which I use to get back to the homepage when the ad takes over.

Yes, thus the ad does the exact opposite of what its purpose is. It pisses me off and makes me hate Oakley.

you can exit the ad if you click the small X in the lower left corner. then everything gets back to normal.

just came in here to make this thread. the oakley adds are so annoying then you have to close them or go back to home when youre just trying to click on a forum or the video section or something. just frustrating

you can press the exit button in the lower left corner and things return to normal, but if you happen to mouse over it again it's back to square one

yes and then you have to click close on the add before the rest of the page is usable.

i vote that ads that you scroll over and pop out should not be placed under the navigation bar because then the navigation bar is in this case unusable

I keep getting the "FREIGHT RAIL WORKS" ad that always pops up when scrolled over.

I understand how important trains are, but I'm kind of sick of hearing about it.

While we work with our advertisers and give suggestions on what we consider effective ads on the site, we do not dictate what kinds of ads they can submit.

In this case we are working with the designers of the ad to make changes so that it doesn't block the Nav bar, but this is the ad campaign they've decided to go with this season, so the ads will stay

here's the thing admins. personally i dont care allll that much about these ads (though i do hate them, theyre annoying), but honestly when i'm visiting new sites, one of those things popping up will make me instantly click Back and find a different site. it's like a classification system in my head, when i see that ad i think "Oh, it's one of those sites. Next"

Just something to think about. You guys are really good and cool about things like this, but in this instance i'm saying you guys might reconsider these ads for your own sake too
