I currently go to Dalhousie architecture, and am graduating with a bachelor of environmental design.

I would assume that he is starting environmental design this fall?

Maybe you aren't the top notch athlete you think you are. Don't rain on other kids parades just because you couldn't get into Stanford. I mean you can always road trip up ther with Jack Black and burn down a building, drug the dean of admissions, and then realize you didn't even want to go there.

if i wasn't the top notch athlete then coaches should have told me off the bat instead of leading me on for 6 months only to bail at the last second. i'm the last person to blow smoke up my own ass and i doubted myself but what kept me going were the reinforcing words from my coaches and college coaches saying how good i was and how much potential i had to help their program

so regardless of whether i'm good or not, i was told i was going to be recruited, i was not, i was never given reasons why not, and subsequently i was rejected

stanford is a different story. an admissions officer confirmed i was a full recruit but they still didn't take me, nothing i could've done about that. clearly i'm just a retard

Where do you think you're going to go? That list is so similar to mine its crazy. Well actually, that list would be similar to mine if I had applied to all the schools I was looking at and not been super busy when I could have applied. Ha, oh well.

And ROOS, looks like I'll be there next year as well, I'm pretty excited for it.

its between CU boulder and Colby pretty much...I spent a few days with my buddy at boulder and it was awesome, cept for some random kid visiting from UNH getting shot like 2 blocks from where we were on st. patty's day.  i'm gonna drive up to colby and spend a couple nights there with my friend to check it out...i'll probably end up at colby though. stoked! anyone else for sure going there?

I'm confused about how you got support from multiple teams, usually you are only supposed to commit to one..have you won any big races? Theres more to it than a 630, if it was a 612 it'd be a different story..

3.5 gpa 35 act, but since Bucknell was my last choice i applied to a 5 year program and their admissions guy told my college counsellor that they know kids only apply to Bucknell 5 year programs if they don't really want to go to the school, so they waitlisted most of the 5 year applicants.

well i carried a dialogue with multiple coaches, that's how it works. then you sort of gauge their interest while giving them interest and ultimately you commit to one school. however this process happens after applications are due which requires you to apply everywhere

since my 2k isn't the fastest i talked to a ton of coaches and i was ready to go with anyone who gave me support. some of them made it pretty clear off the bat they weren't gonna go with me, like princeton, others, like brown, didn't tell me i wasn't getting support until 3 days before decisions came out

i applied to stanford EA and got deferred, that recruiting happened instantly. i went out to the camp this summer and the coach liked my rowing and said it was a done deal, stanford is just a shit shoot as far as admissions is concerned

my boat placed 2nd at new englands last year and i won some races in a single this summer which coaches like. all my coaches were super positive about my rowing and encouraged me to pursue these top schools.

i'm not here saying i'm some super athlete who deserved to get recruited to an ivy, i'm just bitter that i was led on for so long. this is only my my second year rowing and a 6:30 was my second 2k, so i have lots of improvement still to do, which was one of the things that hurt me, but as far as the learning curve is concerned, i picked up rowing extremely fast and had good success right away, and that attracted coaches like stanford, brown, and cornell, ultimately brown and cornell decided they couldn't afford to take a risk by recruiting a candidate off of potential

They don't call it villaNOFUN for a reason. Such a boring school, with some of lamest kids in the world. It also takes 20 minutes to get to Center City, and a 25 minute train ride. But if you got a full ride, take it.

Got into Cornell, rejected from Dartmouth

SAT: 2150 - Math 730, Reading 680, Writing 740
ACT: 32
GPA: 96 weighted, 94 unweighted

Make sure you have good extracurriculars and essays. Write your essay to show that you fit in that particular school/major. They look for fit mostly, especially Cornell.
