Just bought some Pontoons

They are 189 and i bought them new for 260 euros. that's kind of a killer deal. anybody can give me a review on these. i mainly want to know if you can also ski them switch in pow? of course they aren't as good as some bents or EPs but if i want to go switch on them does it feel comfortable?

Sure you can. You have to lean into your toes a bit to do so, but it works. It has a tapered tail, so you can't lean back into a turn like you would lean into a turn skiing forward, but again, you can do it. Pontoons are made with magic. That ski rips man, you'll love it.

were have you mounted them and with what binding?
thinking of p18s cause i have a pair at home. will it be a problem with the mounting pattern and such a wide ski?

I had some Jesters on there but I usually use Salomons. p18s will be fine. You are skiing them in deeper snow most of the time anyway, so you need not worry about a wider or narrower mounting pattern on your binders. It is a very very minimal difference many people can't distinguish.

I mounted mine at the the midsole spot per McConkey's recommendation.

these skis will definately only come out on the deep powder days. is the mcconkey point the only recommended point cause everybody tells me to mount at recommended ;)

btw is it good to bend brakes which were bent before again? cause i want to bend my 110s to 135s...

Yes, he said he skied them every single way you could mount them, forwards, back, duck stance, etc. He said he found the 'MidSole' or 'Recomended' to be the best.

Brakes, sure, bend 'em! Somebody might not warranty them if you bent them and they eventually broke, but brakes won't stop those skis if they ever come off your feet anyway!

those skis are a blast on big pow days, I would also definetly mount them on the recommended line because the ski flex changes throughout and it just doesnt ski as good when not at recommended, plus who the hell knows better than McConkey!!?? especially on his ski.

As per the brakes, bend em til they break, no pun intended. just be more careful if they have already been bent once because they are probably a little weaker and more prone to snap
