I think it was more they're putting everyone else before themselves. I think they'd have more on their minds than the guinness book of records after being stuck underground for that long.

I was in chile when the mine first collapsed which feels long ago!
amazing story. i have the utmost respect for these men.. excellent news for the entire country

That's some serious fucking overtime. From what i've heard, the miners have received over 1800 job offers from various Chilean organizations (not mining, obviously haha). These guys are probably gonna be set for life after this.

The healthiest one went up first in case anything went wrong and he got stuck. I dont know what the other order is and don't know if they got anyone else up. I stopped watching. I could not handle the tight space in that capsule going up the hole. I would panic

There's a link to the live feed of the rescue. It's pretty special to watch. I went fairly deep into Cerro Rico in Bolivia this past spring, about 9 million people died there so this kind of hits home with me.

one rescue worker left. pretty awesome stuff. i was camped in front of the tv yesterday, flip flopping back and forth between the news and hockey with my laptop parched atop my groin, and im doing the exact same thing tonight

fuck im useless...........but it's awesome

the main shaft collapsed in august and they had a three and a half inch hole to lower down food and stuff
