Cops don't blow. Countries without reliable police forces aren't so much fun to drive around in. Be thankful, and pay for your new tags like a grown up.
Yeah man. Fuck the police. They don't do anything to contribute to society. All they do is drive around in their little cop cars and don't do jack shit.
You only had to pay $60 for expired plates? My friend got pulled over for expired plates and his ticket was like $400 and he had to get his car towed off the freeway.
If what you say is true, about how they dont expire mid month... just speculating here.. but uh why didn't you fight the ticket then? Sounds like you are either A) Not telling the full story, orrrr B) you just deserve to pay it because you didn't fight a ticket that, if what you say is true, could be easily won if you chose to do so.
So in conclusion, police don't blow(and this is coming from a person who has been charged with a DUI), and you fully deserve to pay the ticket.
IGNORANCE! The ones that complain are always the first ones to call the police when something goes wrong. Ill admit a few cops but a bad name for the police as a whole but respect the police for god sakes. Extremely hard job with minimal salaries.
cops don't all blow. the majority are hard-working people making a living for their family and keeping the streets safe for society to operate.
however, there are those power hungry, teen-hating, drug-despising pricks who will fuck you over just because you look a certain age, and some of us have had to deal with those.
when me and my buddies are sitting on a curb in downtown LA while you four douches are tearing everything in our truck apart because you smelled weed, I dont want an ethics lesson on life and not smoking weed because it makes you dumb. while two kids present had MMJ cards.
when me and my buddies are sitting in the car at joshua tree at night and eating oranges and talking about our trip, I dont want you to roll up and search our whole car while we wait outside, shivering uncontrollably, only for you to take a $300 bubbler and write us all tickets.
also, next time you handcuff my drunk friend at his house party on his birthday, make sure you don't fracture his arm. thanks for your consideration.
small town cops are usualy the pricks in my expiernce, all the cops i run in to boston dont give a shit unless your actually doing somthing bad, ie robery, coke
yep. small town cops on little power trips trying to make the world "a better place" by busting kids for having a bit of weed or having a party at their house...
fuck all of them.^
i respect the real police officers that are considerate, hard working and joined the force to actually make a difference.
The tags dont expire at the end of the month, they expire on the birthday of whoever the car is registered to. My birthday is Feb 3 so my tags have a Feb sticker but they are not valid for most of the month of February.
I see the OP is actually in Colorado, which makes his story even more suspect...
Vehicle Registration Late Fee
Colorado motor vehicle owners face a new late fee of up to $100 for failing to register their vehicles on time. A law passed this year requires owners of motor vehicles registered on or after June 1, 2009 to make a timely payment or face late fees of $25 per month up to a total $100 per vehicle. The owner will continue to receive a one month grace period. Then, the $25-per-month late fee applies to any portion of the subsequent months for up to four months.
Example: Vehicle registration expired in April. Grace period expired in May. If you register the vehicle in: June Late Fee: $25.00; July Late Fee: $50.00; Aug. Late Fee: $75.00; Sept. Late Fee: $100.00; Oct. Late Fee: $100.00
Vehicles that have been issued temporary registrations (permits) are subject to the late fee.
Example: Temporary Permit expiration date is June 3, 2009. If you register the vehicle between: June 4-30 Late Fee: $25.00; July 1-31 Late Fee: $50.00; Aug. 1 - 31 Late Fee: $75.00; Sept. 1 - 30 Late Fee: $100.00; Oct. 1 -31 Late Fee: $100.00
I actually got a ticket for expired tags a bout 9 mounths ago. I was way past my date, in addition to the ticket it cost me $100 extra at the DMV. Which is bullshit, I mean what if I hadn't been driving? I don't use my motorcycle in the winter, if my tags expire in october why shouldn't I be able to wait until spring to renew?
A bit excessive, but thats what you get when you have a prior record of domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, armed robbery and you lead the police on a 115 mph chase and then charge an officer once the chase is over. Guy was an idiot.
