spot on. as awesome as skiing every day over winter break was for four years, you get tired. i work a full time job doing something that i generally enjoy. i live about an hour to an hour and a half away from skiing, but i still get out about 50 days a year. there are ways to have a decent job that you don't hate, get paid, and still ski a ton. sure, you're not gonna get every pow day, but being able to take a week off, go on a trip with your best friends, get dumped on every night and come home after a day on the hill and not have to worry about what you're going to be able to eat for dinner is certainly a tradeoff that has been working out pretty well for me.
honestly, this is the worst time of year. all the new movies are coming out and getting everybody stoked for the snow to start falling, but those of us stuck on the east coast realistically have at least a month or two until we can really start skiing, and it's rough. make it through til winter break and you'll probably change your perspective once you can get back out on the snow again.
