Car Accident

Got rear ended by a wrangler with a custom bumper that prevents rollovers and improves winchibality and messed my jeep up pretty bad. Turns out that he had no insurance during the wreck. My insurance covers everything but what will happen to him?

this was a jeep on jeep collision?

well he HAS to have liability insurance (liability, right?) in case he kills anyone or anything. but you aren't required to have collision insurance. if he doesnt have collision, then i guess he will pay out of pocket for what he did to your car?

pretty sure he's not from mexico if he drives a wrangler with a custom bumper that prevents rollovers and improves winchibality. if OP had said he drives a honda with a custom bumper that prevents rollovers and improves winchibality, you might have a valid point

Yes driving w/o liability is illegal. Hopefully you have uninsured motorist coverage.

Hopefully he is just lazy and/or cheap, as opposed to broke. Sounds like this might have been an off road vehicle he was driving?

If he is broke and cannot afford to pay you, then use your uninsured motorist coverage as a last resort.

Any kind of claim you make on your insurance will drive it up, even when it's not your fault.

Do everything you can to make him pay for it.

On another note, yesterday I got rear ended by some chick, I was stopped she was going 35 - 40, I have a 98 cherokee, she slammed into be, I was like "my car is fucked" I look, 0 damage, it was crazy, she wasn't so lucky haha everyone was alright though

if he has no insurance on the vehicle, he will get his license suspended aswell as fines atleast here in ny

I see your in Colorado. These other posts have been incorrect. If the person still has a loan on the Jeep, HE HAS TO HAVE COLLISION INSURANCE also..or the lender will add that to his loan amount and purchase the insurance for him. Bottom line is if you do have full coverage you are fine, you will just make a claim and it will be fixed. Your insurance agency will go after the person that hit you in, in court.

well i'm no insurance agent so i really can't tell you anything solid especially without knowing what state you live in and what you mean by he has no insurance.

my speculations. if it is indeed an off road vehicle he could only be insured for trail use which is a problem for him since it is not legal for him to drive on public highways. i dont know why anyone would have collision insurance on an off road vehicle. no smart insurance company would insure an off road vehicle.
