I don't really see what the big deal is. I know at big sky there is an area like half way up the mountain where people hold worship service and stuff like that on sundays (not really sure if it's every sunday or what) but they keep to themselves and don't bother anyone. So if these dudes want to mix religion with their shred on the hill that's cool with me as long as they aren't in the parks and stuff trying to recruit everyone.

theres a group like that that near me that does bmx and skateboarding demos, and then they preach about god and stuff. i went to it a few years ago and i didnt like the mix. i feel like its an illegitimate way to get people to join your religion, like when the youth groups have halo tournaments and stuff.

plenty of skiers and mountaineers practice buddhism hand in hand with their mountain related activities


in reference to the OP though that sounds a little wack, I think skiing/snowboarding films can show people the wonders of nature but it is sort of off putting and weird to imagine them evangelizing through snowboard films.

I don't mind it, because it's not as if you must be baptized to ski at one of these hills, and it's completely optional.

I remember loon used to have what they called downhill worship, basically a mass or something somewhere on the mountain. Skied there plenty of times, and never once saw it or knew what was going on.

at the very least though, it's convenient for any religious folk who want to ski sunday but are devout. Hit the slopes for a few runs, duck in for mass/whatever, then head back out. no time lost going to church, going home, going to the hill etc.

as long as they aren't trying to convert me on the lift, it's not a big deal.

alrite, i think that if the message is brought about through the movies, that is perfectly fit, where as on a slope with people of many different backgrounds and opinions, it is not fit.. you can choose to buy a certain film, but its not a choice when you are being preached at going down a hill

haha I support this, you will have to make videos to compete with theirs though and some how involve noodley appendages


to everyone in the bottom half of this page, I am not sure all of you read the link. the OP wasn't talking about people worshipping on the hill he was talking about that group making snowboard movies specifically for the purpose of spreading the gospel.

oh word those guys came to my mountain one time and came over hella chill and just gave me a movie. pretty dope right

so i watched it, there was some jesus stuff in it, but whatever, i don't see why people are so sensitive. they ripped too. nothings making you watch it.

oh and i don't know if people know this, but jah music is spreading the rastafari movement, so FUCK EDITS WITH REGGAE MIXING RELIGION WITH THE SLOPES
