Look pivot 14

Hey guys this is my first thread as I am new to new schoolers. I am getting ready for the skiing season by purchasing some armada ar7's however I am looking for some bindings, I stumbled across the look pivot 14 and I saw some good reviews on it... any chance you guys could tell me if its worth the bucks?

thank you. also im not very sure however of my boot length and the shop online is mounting them and sending them to me assembled. If I get the length of the boot off by a few millimeters is it a complete fail or can the binding be adjusted by me?

yes, this binding is awesome, if it's the appropriate binding for you. how aggressively do you ski? how much do you weigh? what's your boot sole? these are all determining factors for whether this is the appropriate binding for you. if you usually ride your DIN around 9-10, then yeah, it's probably a good bet.

as for the online shop mounting thing, with the pivot heel, you really do need to know the exact measurement of your boot sole because there's not that much adjustment to the heel. also, it's far more complicated to adjust than most other heels since it isn't a simple tab/wormscrew for forward pressure. that said, i wouldn't have an online shop mount the bindings. take them to your local shop, with both boots, and have your shop do it. that way, you've got somewhere to go if you have issues, and you can be sure the bindings are mounted and tested properly, for your specific boots.

thank you that was hugely helpful. I am 177 cm tall and 150 pounds I ride at an intermediate level I believe. Untill now I have been freeskiing with race skis and my best trick is a 360 haha this year I have made the step to twin tips so that I can level up my tricks. I am indeed going to mount the bindings at my local shop so that I can be 100% sure. However where should I mount them? -2.5 or -5 cm back?

well if you are going to be in the park a lot then -2.5 or dead center would work as it will give you more balance and less swing weight

-5 is going to be for some pow ,all mtn. ,and only a little bit of park

To answer the original question, Yep the pivot series from look has a cult following. Turntable heels provide some excellent safety features and also reduce the binding "deadzone" on the ski allowing it to flex more naturally. You made a good choice.

As for a specific mount point, since you bought these skis with the intention of stepping up your park game I would opt for a -2.5cm mounting point. You'll enjoy them switch but they'll work everywhere else outside the park.

Yea I would recommend them, especially if you have racing background, which I am judging you on because you said you had race skis. Also by chance what binding and din setting did you have?

no dont get me wrong I didnt race I just happened to have inherited some race skis from my friend :) I am not sure what the binding was but I know that it was at 6 DIN. and thanks I was thinking of mounting it on -2.5 anyways just for that nice park feel should work nicely :)
