Best time of the year for SLC?

I have never been to the midwest for skiing or for any other reason otherwise(Cause I'm an arrogant New Yorker), so I am not sure when the best time to travel there during the winter would be. I am shooting to stay for two weeks sometime this winter, and not pay too much, so no holidays. I am trying to pick up some tickets now so I don't get screwed. If someone can give me a 3 week timeframe when the snow is historically pretty good, and its not during a big holiday, that would be awesome.
I am probably just going to hit up Alta and Snowbird, so any tips on getting cheap lift tickets(Stealing doesn't count) would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I know Utah isn't really midwest, but if it's inbetween NY and Cali, it's midwest to me.

Late Feb or early March. There will be a big base and if it's not snowing it will be sunny and warm.

come mid febuary into late febuary. and for tickets you will need to look online on like ski n see or juss find them when you come out here. but alta is pricey so you will be paying about 65 a day there and snowbird is about 45-50 i havent been there since middle of last year so i dont remember really....

or "the lift haus" which is right at the base of BCC on Wasatch blvd. and its perfect cause youre gonna be driving right by it on the way to the mouth of LCC.

I've been there in mid-March to mid-April a few times and I've always gotten mad dumping pow days and sick warm and sunny park days over 1-2 weeks so that's when i'd shoot for; might've just gotten lucky though. If you're gonna be there for a while look into just buying a season pass early season (might have missed out on it now). A lot of the time, depending on pass prices vs ticket prices, it can be cheaper if you're paying full price. Good call getting on it now though......

I took a look and flights in February, they all cost about in the $325 range. How does buying at the shops work, they give you a package deal with a couple of lift tickets, or do you have to buy a certain amount to get a good deal?
I have a season pass to Mountain Creek at the moment, and with that I get a massive discount at any Intrawest resort(I had 50% off when I went to Blackcomb, fuck yeah $30 lift tickets), so do any of you know of a decent Intrawest near SLC so I can see if I can use my discount.
Thanks for the help homies.
