Replying to Freeskiing in the publics eye
It's kinda funny and ironic when you think about this. Mainstream wise and in the public's eye, snowboarding is the popular sport (when it comes to park). Everyone knows who Shaun White is, you've got snowboarding video games, you can walk into Target and buy Burton clothing, halfpipe is an Olympic event for boarder ect. Basically when you mention snowboarding, people think Shaun White, halfpipe, do cool tricks off of jumps and rails. Then you mention skiing and people think rich tight pant wearing douche bags. Then you'll mention how you ski park/pipe and people will be like, "I didn't know skiers did that sort of thing. Do you mean like moguls? Basically in the public eye, people still have no clue how big freeskiing is. Then you go to a mountain with a sick park like PC, and all of a sudden, you realize that freeskiing is really the more popular sport. At most parks now a days, there's noticeably more skiers. I'd say like 60% skiers 40% boarders in a lot of parks. And that 60% does not include the dad with his 3 kids standing on the lip fucking everything up. That 60% of skiers are all kids with twin tips throwing down. Maybe not everyone is nasty and all, but they're all there riding park trying to get better. So it's like people who have no clue about freeskiing will go to a mountain for the first time and be like, "damn, there are more skiers in the park than boarders" and then be blown away when they see a skier switch up on a rail like 3-4 times and hit a jump backwards.
