Forget Mik D. Remember Eric Pollard

What's with all the Mik D worship? Sure, he had his moment. But he's getting more credit than he deserves. Eric Pollard brought WAY more to the table. He pretty much introduced unnatural spins and grinds. He was the first to do zero spins, and arguably the first to land switch in powder (his zero spin in the Utah backcountry may have been the first legit switch pow landing in a film--it was in a Volume episode). He was just as influential in terms of style, too. It was Pollard who kicked off the gorilla steeze craze. That was basically everyone--from Tanner Hall to your local park rat-- trying to look like him, and failing.
And look what Pollard is doing now. Still skiing. Still contributing. Yet all you little munchkins are on Mik Ds dick. I miss the days when Lilhorsey and John Symms would set the record straight....

You're out of your element. Referring to a skier's "work" as part of a "canon" is using metaphor. Nothing partial or clumsy about it. You're confused.
Also, I'm all too familiar with literary canons, because my friends in a comparative literature program can't get jobs in English and French departments, because their training is non-canonical.

Why do I get the idea that this thread has little to do with Eric Pollard?

if we should be remembering anyone it should be Shane McConkey, CR Johnson, or even David Creighton. Pollard is still well on the scene and everyone knows him.
